For the past sixteen years, Samer AbuGhazaleh has been working in the healthcare industry. He is currently the Director of Patient Experience at the International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  He served as a healthcare strategy consultant to both national and international healthcare organizations, including BUPA Arabia, BUPA London, Islamic Development Bank (IDB), King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).  Prior to that, and in his capacity as the Chief Operating Officer of IMC (International Medical Center-www.imc.med.sa), Samer has accumulated a breadth of experiences and knowledge in project management and business development, hospital administration and operations, commissioning and strategic planning.  In 2001, Samer was a pioneering member of the IMC management and commissioning team based in Boston MA, USA.  After the planning stage, Samer moved to Saudi Arabia sharing the vision of bringing the best practice in healthcare to the Middle East. During these ten years, he has occupied many different management positions at IMC.  Since the inception of the IMC project, Samer has been serving on the executive committee of the IMC, he also served as a consultant to the CEO. In his role as the official liaison with Cleveland Clinic, he has helped strengthen the know-how exchange between IMC and CC. He has assisted many clinical and non-clinical departments in their set up plans through providing them with the best in practice from Cleveland Clinic. Samer has also commissioned, and directed the department of patient access services, he also served as Director of Business Development at IMC and was the non-clinical project director of the Clinic of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Samer received extensive training in Cleveland Clinic (www.ccf.org) between the years 2007 and 2009.  Prior to joining IMC, Samer has served as a consultant to CVS pharmacies in the United States. Samer worked to identify and quantify existing supply chain management metrics in order to propose solutions to streamline the supply chain between CVS and Johnson & Johnson. Samer suggested solutions that caused a reduction in millions of dollars to both CVS and J&J. Now Samer is Six Sigma certified and has appeared as a guest speaker in multiple conferences in the Middle East, Europe, and the US.
